This month we delve into the world of the dinosaurs, a group of extinct reptiles from Earth's Mesozoic Era. The term Dinosauria was coined by British anatomist and paleontologist Richard Owen in 1842; however, the remains of these animals have been known to humans since Greco-Roman times. The size of some and the assumed ferocity of others are thought to stir up latent fears within us. Their habits and strange body forms, as well as the theories surrounding their demise, continue to capture the imagination of the young and the old alike.
